What is a Wiki?


A Wiki is a collaborative webpage whose contents can be edited by anyone who has access to it. ****Wikipedia**** is probably the best known example of this.Typically, a webpage has one author. A Wiki allows you to have as many authors as you want.

How can I use this in my classroom?

  • Teacher and IT coordinator can collaborate to create a list of websites students should use to explore a specific topic.
  • Collaborative Text Books: let the students write their own textbook.
  • ePortfolios: You can upload pictures, attach files, and embed video
  • Collaboration between teachers: Create a lesson plan online and other could add to it
  • Collaboration between students: Instead of answering questions for a text book, they could use a pathfind and post answers, pictures and video.
